Mental Fitness Coaching for Parents & Caregivers
BUILDING ROOTS FOR WINGS TO UNFOLD
Helping caregivers support children to build ROOTS: flexibility, safety and regulation, so WINGS: creativity, curiosity and autonomy can unfold.
“CHILDREN ARE THE WORLD’S MOST PRECIOUS RESOURCE” ~Lisa

The Four Anchors
Not as a parenting strategy, as a way to live and fulfill biological needs.
🌱 Roots — the science of felt safety
Children can only explore, learn, and grow from a place of safety. Not just physical safety, nervous system safety. The kind that comes from co-regulation: a calm, attuned presence that signals to a child’s chemistry, you are okay, I have you.
Drawing on the work of Dr. Bessel van der Kolk (The Body Keeps the Score) and Dr. Gabor Maté (Hold On to Your Kids), we explore how your own history of safety or rupture shapes the way you show up for your children and how to gently change that.
🌀 Rhythms — regenerative daily life
Families are living systems, not schedules. When we push past capacity, ours or our children’s, we create dysregulation, resistance, and disconnection. We mistake the symptom (behaviour) for the problem (a nervous system that’s overwhelmed).
Rooted in the Reggio Emilia tradition of honouring the child’s natural pace and the principles of Dr. Joe Dispenza’s work on the nervous system and habit, we look at how your family’s daily rhythms either protect or drain the capacity needed for connection.
✨ Curiosity — the ACT framework
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), developed by Dr. Steven Hayes, offers a radically different approach to difficult emotions for parents and children alike. Instead of fighting what we feel, we learn to observe it, name it, and choose how to respond.
Combined with the Four Agreements: be impeccable with your word, don’t take anything personally, don’t make assumptions, always do your best and the fifth agreement be skeptical, but learn to listen, Lisa gives families a shared language for emotional honesty that replaces shame with understanding.
🦋 Wings — the child as a whole person
Informed by over a decade of Reggio Emilia practice, a philosophy that sees children as capable, creative, and full of their own theories about the world, Roots & Wings holds space for each child’s unique way of being human.
There is no single right way to develop. No single right timeline. Every child has a hundred languages. Our work is to make sure the family environment lets those languages emerge.
